Handy for Church - Christ Church, Greenbank meets in the old Station House on the Chester Road side. A simple, unmanned station with a small free car park by the Church, and small shelters and card only ticket machines on both platforms. A one minute walk from the car park over the road bridge to the Chester bound platform.Wheelchairs have ramp access to the Chester bound platform but there is no car park, only very limited street parking, on that side. For the Manchester bound platform you can avoid steps by accessing from Chester Road through the car park vehicle entrance (minding the potholes and puddles). At present there is a step up to train carriages, as Northern uses ancient rolling stock, but train staff should help if necessary.
Clean station but basic. Just platforms and shelters with ticket machines
Quite pleasant. Easy enough to get in and off the trains.
